Do you really care how your car performs or handles? If not, go with the 18's. But I'd recommend 17's or below if you do...

Technically, it would still handle great with 18's. It would just be a bit rough on bumpy surfaces

Yup..very bumpy especially when you change over to coilovers...

I got annoyed of the ride after a few months, now i'm getting rid of my 18's and settling for a nice set of 17's with a good amount of rubber for cushioning!

I personally like a nice stiff bumpy ride.. its the feel of performance. haha.

I have 17's. Like was said. 19's will fit but dont hit a pot hole... lol. The lancer is even to heavy for 17's.... A 205/40/17 tire isnt rated for what the lancer weighs. I auotx'd my lancer with 17x7 205/40/17 tires and they almost rolled over onto the rim because the car is just to heavy.. Granted. I needed a little bit more air but I dont think I could even put enouph in to stop it from rolling.

^^

What do you know... hehe

18's are great for show... Not for go.. thats for sure... Handling almost goes out the window with rubber band tires on a lancer.

19's? hit a pothole and you're basically screwed!

18's? hmm.. you gotta run a 215/35/18 w/ a nice 42 offset! < That's OPTIMAL

17's? You have a little bit more of play.... I would suggest a 215/40-17 tire. Good width to handle those tight curves. I think a 205 is too narrow, personally!

- Just my 2 cents.

my friend had 18" hot wheels on his car and it looked great and filled in a gap but was bumpy as hell. He said discount tire told him 19"s were too big for the rear because of the spring I think. It does look really close. But basically yes, 18"s will fit with no rubbing issues

Yea, they fit all depending how wide the rim is. Also, what tire size you run.

I have been running 18's for a few months now and just got tired of them. I just took them off lastnight and put my stockers on for the meantime. Winter is here so can't run a 18. Also, I rather sell these and get some good amount of money and get myself a nice set of 17's for the upcoming spring season.

Speaking of wheel sizes... Why do alot of RWD cars put 19s in the back but 18s in the front?
Has anyone ever seen a FWD like this?
Whats the purpose?

Because putting larger rims in the back allow you to run larger tires in the back increasing traction. I think it also slightly angles the car which is better for handling on a RWD car. It would be useless on a FWD car as the driving wheels are up front (obviously). The rear basically just gets dragged along.
