Greddy Counterweight Shifter Knob

I just bought a Greddy Counterweight shifter Knob (because thats what many people on the forums seemed to reccomend) and the boot doesn't quite match up with the knob and it looks goofy because I just have a huge metal rod in the middle of my shifter. Anybody else have these problems or know how to fix it? prefferably without glueing it to the bottom of the knob.

Take the piece out around the shifter that the boot is attached to, put some spacers in, and that will take care of your gap. That is what I did and it worked perfectly.

I'm not sure what exactly you are talking about. I have the same shift knob and I didn't have to adjust the boot in any way...but I have a short shifter.

Or that is the other option, get a short shifter. Greddy shift knob + stock shifter = gap. Greddy shift knob + short shifter = no gap.

Thanks for the info Kurt but if everybody else is saying the short shifter will do the trick, I've already got a B&M on the way. Guess I'll just have to wait to install that before I start putting spacers inbetween.

Careful with the B&M. I got the reg. B&M short shifter (not the adjustable one), and the threading is different than the OEM shifter threading. The threading on my B&M is Honda threading....lancer is bigger.

After I put the knob on, there was still space between the top of the boot, and the knob. We just pulled the boot up! It felt like there was a little "stopper" for the boot at the top, but we pulled hard enough to go past that. Now, it's a perfect fit!

If the B&M is threaded for a Honda, just get the Greddy Shiftknob for a Honda. If the shift pattern is the same, you are set, if not, just keep the sticker that comes with the shift knob for the Lancer.

They're the same shifting routes.
