Cool Air Intake

hey guys I have a K&N intake but its short and its up by where the engine is so its just getting hot air.....what all would I need to extend the intake towards the bottom of the car where all the cold air is? I probably need aluminum tubing to start off with...what else? thanks for the suggestions!

first off......don't bother. It doesn't make much difference between cold air and what in the engine bay, your car will still be slow.
I would reccomend getting rid of the aluminum tubing that came with the K&N intake and putting the K&N filter on the original stock tube, that way you can flex it away from the headers and behind the battery.

But if you are really determined to get CAI, check in the for sale section on here and see if you can find a used one, i think someone actually has an AEM intake for sale.
Or, like you said, fashion your own using aluminum piping or PVC pipe, or if you wanted to be real creative, dryer ducting.

oh yeh one more thing. Use the websites search feature, you will find lots of answers there.

Let the man tune his piece up the best he can. Not all of us can afford an Evo (which I consider to be my cars "big brother"

I think we all need to hook-up intercoolers in our CAI's on our N/A's.
A deff. must!

Has anyone used the DC sports short ram intake? Horsepowerfreaks have them on sale for 08-09 lancer 2.4L for $148.85. Didn't see anything in search about this brand of intake. Good deal?
