How To Install Rotors.. 04 Es

I have a 2004 ES, and first I need to know
do we have a "Drum" or "Disc" on the back (So I know for when I buy the Rotors)

Also, how are they install. Step by step instructions would be nice.

THanks

Whoa! If you had to ask what braking setup we have in the back, I'd let the pros do the front install... Just being honest here! But there should be a how-to in the Lancer section.

Good luck!

The install is really easy. We just did mine about a month ago. You should definitley have someone around that kinda knows what they are doing, but the short and easy way of putting it is something like this.

1. Unbolt the caliper.

2. Take the old rotor off. (You may need to hit it from the backside with a rubber mallet. And turning your wheel while doing this helps a LOT!!)

3. Put the new rotor on tightly.

4. Replace caliper.

5. THIS IS THE MOST IMPORTANT PART!!! Make sure you replace all the bolts

6. Repeat for the other side.

I would suggest changing the pads if you have the $$. Then bed them in really well and enjoy!!

Like I said, this is just basically instructions for dummies. It's pretty simple, but it would be wise to have a buddy that knows what they are doing

P.S. We have drums in the back. You shouldn't have to replace those if you have an '04.

What kind of setup are you plannig on installing?

Well I needed to know if we had drums because when you go to liek Discount Auto Parts, they ask if we have Drums or Discs in the back so we know which to buy.

Seems pretty easy
I already changed the brakes maybe 2 weeks ago
Now I just need the Rotors done

but I'm changing the front brakes, I don't know why he asked about that. I figure before I even do anything, let me figure it out.

I didn't see anything in the "How Tos" section so I had to ask
