ticking question

ok i have a 06 lancer es with a muffler and intake....when my car sits at idle, the car ticks a little and once i hold it about 1300 rpm's, it goes away....i've listen for any rod knocks or anything and nothing.

its only at idle and when the a/c is on....what could this be? its only when its at an idle or the a/c so is it connected some how or does someone else have this issue?

Could i need a valve adjustment possibly?

thanks

Check simple things first like the intake, shake it around and see if it's hitting anything

My car is a stock 06 Lancer and I hear a ticking noise too at idle, but only when I'm outside of the car... I don't hear it when I'm inside. I think it's normal !

Try watching the first video listed in my signature... you can hear the "normal" valve train noise coming from the engine at the beginning of the clip. And yes, when the A/C compressor starts up, it shoots the revs up by 2-300 and makes it more noticable. No worries, it's normal... just don't drive hard until the oil temperature guage is at normal operating levels.
