Heat shield? Nice shiny pipe?

If you ask me I'd get it over the original just for aesthetic looks

I have the V2 installed...its real nice, but the distance to empty meter has gone to ****. It says I have about 100 miles less than what it used to say before I installed it. But so far other than getting the engine reved up slightly faster, there isn't much difference from stock.

wait, I thought for sure SRI improves gas mileage, or is it only effective if you have the catback/axelback exhaust with it?

I usually see 380-400mi to empty every time I gas up, how much do you get with the SRI installed?

That distance till empty seems to be effected on how you drive, just like how the CVT adjusts as well. When I first got the car with less than 200 miles on it, the gauge said 400 miles till empty. Now when I fill it up, it says around 300(after putting over 1k miles on it), because I like to drive like a dick and not conserve gas . Its a very fuel efficient car, if you let it be. If you drive really easy on it, accelerate slowly and dont go over 2.5/3k rpms for a day or two, it will probably increase the number of miles until empty on your display.

So...Its probably telling you that because you were driving it harder to test out the intake? Maybe, dunno... I was also under the impression that an intake improves MPG.

I dont think so, I installed the intake over a week ago so I was testing it out on the last tank of gas. Thursday I filled up to full tank, and I've been driving like normal. When I filled it up, it told me that I had 360 left to empty, normally it tells me about 420 everytime i fill up. On saturday I made a trip to my gf's which is 90 miles of highway driving. The entire way there on cruise control set at 75mph, it told me I had 310 miles. Same for the return trip. Right now, I have 270 on the trip, and it tells me that I have about 130 left to go, which is about the same as when I didn't have the SRI. When I fill up, i'm gonna check the gallons vs miles driven to see how it compares to what I used to get.

What I assume is that the computer now sees a lot more air coming in, so its doing some calculation and giving me false data for the distance to empty.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

So I filled up last night after driving responsibly on this last tank full of gas. 337 miles out of 12.023 gallons. Comes out to 28mpg, nothing to write home about, but its a smidge better than the 27-27.5 I have been getting without the RRM SRI V2. In the long run, I would assume you could probably calculate a better average, but on one tank the sample is just too small to get numbers people would actually be impressed with lol. Personally I wouldn't say the SRI has any better fuel economy than the stock set up. At least it didn't go down :-D

Ever have CEL issues with this intake?

Mine seems to pop-up every other fill-up or so. I found that I screwed-up my MAF o-ring in the original install, but I replaced it over 1000 miles ago, and CEL issues keep popping-up.

Have you tried resetting the ECU again?

If it's happening mostly after you're getting gas, ensure the gas cap is seated properly: sometimes it's stupid things like that get overlooked. Hit the MAF with some cleaner too...the air filter may have had a little too much oil on it.

yes, it attaches to the engine cover bolt on the driver's side. that part was pretty difficult to attach, imo.

Are there any settings to do after reconnecting the battery? Radio code, time, etc ...
I'm thinking to reset my ECU, as it doesn't seem to have adjusted right after I put my K&N filter.

MPG is a little lower than before and it jerks when I drive at idle in traffic (4-5mph without touching the gas pedal or the brake). It feels like it accelerates a little, then it slows down (like braking), and then it repeats.

No, all you have to do is reconnect the battery and let it idle for about 10 minutes or so.

The slowing down feeling when idling is an economy thing that the car does to save gas. I've read about it on here before, i'm pretty sure it doesn't have anything to do with the intake or the filter.

Is there a How to anywhere for the new SRI for the 2.4L. It's completely different from this one. I'm trying to figure out where the support beam bolts down to. We cannot figure it out and do not want to take the stock intake off before we figure it out.

Please help!
