I have a fuel economy project coming up with the lancer just signing up the last of the voluenteers but fuel economy can be achived with the lancer CVT but you have to go against what the Tranny ECU is attempting to do.

You have to drive moderately hard to your target speed and cruise the rest of the way. The gradual acceleration does nothing but murder fuel.

my average mixed city and highway driving is about 28 - 30mpg *converted from http://www.pege.org/fuel/convert.htm
7.8 - 8.4 is my range L/100km

My driving style is brake passive so i dont do a whole lot of braking and do at times utitlize engine braking.

I love this car when it comes to gas consumption, I dis like the CVT brain. A profile select is what the car needs. Expecially how it learns from my girlfriends driving.

This car is out to cater to the drivers habits.

pssst, reason why your evo gets good milage and im sure you drive it like a beast is because of turbo.

I love people who turbo the hell out of old cars that only get like 7mpg and are now pushing 30 with them.

i drive about 30 miles a day minimum, thats just to school and back each day not including any other driving. With that my tank lasts a week and i get about 23-24 MPG, i always gas up when my car needs about 10-11 gallons and thats always at about 230-240 miles. Not to mention i leave my car running for an hour each morning because i have to get to school early and have nothing to do, so that burns some gas.

Which brings me to question, what are the long term effects of leaving your car on for extended periods of time without driving?

Nothing harmful. Hell, since it only has to idle, it's like a long walk to a marathon runner.
