Turn signal bulb Flasher

Where is located the electronic turn signal flasher in the Lancer 08? And what type of flasher use this car?

The question is cause I bought a pair of led bulbs for the turn signal but I need to change to a special flasher for the leds to work.

Ok, all cars use a relay or whatever thing that controls the flash rate for the turn signals bulbs and when you put the signal to left or right when you have to turn in a corner this relay sounds the clicks and obiously make the bulb to flash (on and off, repetedly). Ok the thing is that I want to know where is located or what type of flasher is, to buy one that works with led bulbs

Haven't looked for it myself, but here's a process for finding it.

Go turn on your turn signals. Listen closely for the clicks. Once you find where the clicks come from, you've found the flasher unit. Now I can pretty much guarantee you that it's not a simple relay; it's more likely to be an electronic flasher unit that controls both the turn signal and hazard systems.. These are tougher to get to work with LED systems but it's not impossible.

In my experience which is on semi-trucks not cars...so I may be completely off. For the bulbs we have now, which are incandescents, they use a normal flasher because of the amperage pulled by the signals. The flasher does nothing but control the rate at which the bulbs will flash. On the other hand if you install all LED's on your turn signals, then you will have to look at an electronic flasher, this flasher uses diodes and transistors rather than a bi-metallic strip. The electronic flasher is needed due to the LED's low amperage pull compared to regular bulbs. Now on where it is...hmm it could be under the dash somewhere or in the main fuse tray under the hood. Best to call mitsu and see if they can tell you. Best of luck.

Well someone tell me that there is no flasher relay, the car use a controll module. I just received my leds and I dont want to use load resistors for the turn signals. I will have to call my dealer technician for details.

Sometimes I hate the electronics in modern cars. Others less electronic are more easy to modd

You may have to go the resistor route.

A little (a good bit) more work but at least then you know it's going to work properly.
