Alright... need to replace the 02 sensor. So, I bought the o2 removal socket and got it pulled out, but I spent a half hour and cannot get the harness to disconnect!

Is there a lot of dirt around the plug?

This might make it a little harder to remove. Try some WD40 to clean it up and help get it apart. Carefull with the locking tabs, they get brittle with age.

Go ahead and break the tabs if you have to... Simply get a small zip-tie and pull the connectors together afterwards if they break... We do this at the dealer often with old crusty connectors... Use Dialectic grease on the connector before putting it back together...

There should be a rubber grommet inside the clip as well... Try prying the connectors open a bit and spray some WD-40 or whatever down in there... The rubber usually just gets hot and bakes itself to the plastic housing...

Nahh, that stuff will work in a pinch though...

The stuff you want hangs on the same shelf at the local Advance or whatnot... You want "Electrical Connector" grease...

That's funny, my buddy and I struggled for like a half hour trying to get the harness on his RSX to come off. The only suggestion I have is to use a flat bladed screwdriver if you can. Whatever you do, don't pull on the wires, pull on the plug.

Thanks! I'm going to keep trying with the flat-head and hopefully it will come off before it's too dark to wire up the new o2 or else i'll be stuck at work definitely don't want to pull out the wires! that would suck... have to hard wire it right to the harness.. not a big fan of direct harness wiring

You mean, your oven isn't big enough? LOL Glad to hear it came apart finally...don't forget the "electrical" grease for the future.

He could start the car and yank the harness close to the exhaust pipe.

Glad to hear everything went OK, Dave!
