one thing i really dont understand..

ive been searching and searching but give me a solid answer.. sorry thats this is hela late but i was wondering. if you buy the harness or relay kit on the hid kits will your DRL still be on? as in the hid bulbs will be running full time during the day? does the relay or harness kit stops the DRL? i still dont get it... i so lost.. i was wondering if you buy a relay kit if the DRL will come to an end..

still kinda lost.. so if you buy the relay do you still have to bypass the DRL or do something to the DRL?
LOST!!!!!
bcuz i really want my hids now...

I dont know about all the relay harnesses out there, but a reasonable assumption is that if you wire your relay harness to the existing low beam harness, the DRL will not be disabled. You will need to trigger the HID relay harness from another source such as the parking lights, fog lights, or a secondary switch that you install yourself.

idk if i missed it, but i thought i read computer error canceling in there, nothing about disabling HIDs. There is no computer error with the Lancer when you don't have the lights in. My stock low beam harness has been unplugged for a year and its still fat dumb and happy.

Now heres a dumb question. Guy at work told me that if I did the HID's then my electrical system burns up. Is that a problem when you splice through the parking light in the diy how to?

Hey, I am new. I got my 6000K HID conversion kit and purchased the Harness with one remote turn on connector. I straightly connected my the OEM lowbeam headlight connector to the "Remote turn on" and swtiched light control to postions 3 (all the way). but nothing came on.... Does it have to be the parking light to the remote?

Question HID on lancer 2008 ES HI beam?

Hi everyone!

I recently bought a 9005 HID kit to replace my factory HI beam but I'm getting stuck.
The factory connection between the bulb and the socket is located behind a plastic enclosure that you need to twist and pull to be opened.

But...

For anyone who have already installed HID kit, you've probably noticed that the factory connector plugs in the ballast and getting out of it with 2 wires that goes to the HID light bulb!

There is the problem i'm facing, it's physically impossible to place a ballast in that small plastic enclosure! :P

If I leave the plastic cover opened, am I going to get moisture problem in my headlights?

Any solution to avoid cutting my factory wires?
I can' t figure how to do it in a clean way!

Anyone have already installed an HID kit on the HI Beam?

Thanks!!

i think most people are running hids on lowbeams unless its like a hi-lo kit, because if you switching from your lows to your highs you will have a slight wait time for power up

okie i have installed my prolumen 6000k HID kit the way kit diagram showed it. the HID turns on only when i turn the stalk all the way up before i start my car and once the car have started i turn the stalk to off position and turn back all the way to on i believe 2 clicks my HID wont fire up. I believe this is happening since i did not splice it and connect it into my parking lights. my question is if i buy a resistor or cannabus as recommended by my mechanic would i be able to turn on and the turn off and on again my hid after i start my car. or do i need any special harness. could not splice into the parking wire because in the first post of this thread the picture that showed wat to cut and what to splice does not work. I just want the on and off mechanism the stock way.
Any Help is appreciated.
thankyou

you guys can just use an isolated relay system. dont even use the stock headlight socket connector. go to auto zone, buy aftermarket 9006 bulb connectors with better wiring and use those. wire it up to a relay that switches from the parking lights, wire the power to the battery, and you are good to go. no DRLs and HIDs will be drawing its power straight from the battery, so you get good, clean power every time.

I have the harness that came with the kit. I set up everything for a test and the HID flickered which I was about 99% sure would happen. I understand that i need to splice into a more permanent source of power thus bypassing my DRL, which im ok with doing. Can someone just better explain tying the harness into the parking light wiring? maybe better pics or video or something... i purchased the light kid from MobileHID.com

I got the fog lights in no prob. the 3000K look sweet
