What are the switches left of the steering wheel in a 2008 lancer for?

I am considering buying a gts lancer and saw this picture. Just wondering what the plain switches are for on the left side of the dash just before the door...

are those even switches at all or just placeholders for some? what options would utilize those?

There are 3 swich blanks there. Probably for future options. My GTS is apparently fully loaded so Im not really sure what they could be. Maybe something in the evo.

eh... never mind... i searched the site and found the dash pic... those look like "blanks" filling the holes where switches might go... However, my GTS has an all grey dash (except for the odd trim piece that looks like faux CF). So, I never really noticed those blanks really.

Blanks might seem "tacky" on a new car, but I kind of like them because they give me a place to put a switch later when I add some nifty gizmo that I just gotta have to the car :P

weird, it does seem really cheesy to have blank switches, especially if you have a car loaded with all the options.

I think the seat heater switches are located right in front of the center console lid, in the square blank... Access for driver and passenger.

The left switch is the head light adjustment wheel and the center one is the ACS off switch. Not sure what the third would be for, possibly the side view mirror defrosters or some other option that isn't given here. They look like the same switches that are in the evo ix.

The side window defrosters turn on automatically when the rear window defroster is turned on. I know that my wife's Outlander has the ASC on/off switch in the middle position, but the two outboard ones are probably for user expansion (I think).

And as far as seat heaters go, they are located on the center console, behind the cupholders.

SVT got it right. Even the EVO X has 1 blank (place holder) switch but the other 2 are utilized.

Preinstalled for ricers. Now there's spots for the switches that control the nitrous on/off, bottle warmer, and neons . . .
