Lancer GTS MP3 cable

I just recently bought a Lancer GTS black on black with the RF, sound and sun, and navigation package. But it didn't come with the MP3 cable, my salesman told me i had to buy it for 50 buks, but I think thats way too expensive. Does anyone know what type of cable you use for this system, and is it worth buying the OEM cable or just buying it aftermarket and installing it myself?

Just buy a headphone to RCA (red, yellow, white) cable, they are like $10 online or at radioshack. Plugs right into the audio/video inputs beneath the AC controls. You cant use the Nav to control music selection, you have to use the mp3 player, but thats the cheapest easiest way.

There is also a thread on this forum somewhere that shows u how to remove the nav deck and plug in the cable from behind.

In case you don't know, the red and white cords plug into the aux plugins at the back of your little tray thing in the center. in front of the shifter, under the temp etc. its way in the back.

To get to your mp3 player, press and hold the cd button.

OK, the $50 cable is a special one that plugs into the back of the stereo and lets you plug in your iPod directly to the radio.

You can also buy any headphone-to-red/white cable and use that with the plugs in the cubby hole. As stefan said, you just plug in and hold CD until is says AUX on the screen.

So its just a basic RCA cable? Thank you so much, you guys just saved me a good amount of cash. I found several on a site and I was wondering which one works. The three plug one or the two plug one?

not through the headphone jack, you would have to use the dock connector to rca cable for video
