i was thinking of this the other day. im considering doing this to my evo. we dont have this option in the older versions of the evo so im not familiar with it, but i think you can just buy the controller unit from the dealer and install it on each door.

^ Anyone going to the dealer soon that could follow up on that? I'd love to be able to at least have the passenger front window be automatic, too.

My guess on this is that you will have to buy new control units plus maybe relays for each of the windows. I don't see a problem with putting the driver unit on the front passenger, but for the rear windows there might be a problem because I think the windows are a bit smaller.

Let me know what your find out at the dealer.

i'd be interested in doing this to my passenger window, but i don't care about the rear windows.

i'm also thinking about a button that would make all the windows go down at once. i know lexus rx350 can be done by holding down the unlock button on the key. hmm... i wonder how the thing even looks. wikipedia.org!

I would think if you can get the drivers side switch and install it in all the slots then I would think they would all be auto down.

However there could be different wiring.

it all depends on how the system functions. If it is just the switching then yes it is as simple as changing out the switches but i dought it. I will look into it a bit further, if anyone can pull p the diagram that would help alot!

if it where just the switch it would be easy. theres an ecu in the driver side switch panel, it takes in weather or not ur using the auto up/down or the other windows. if you could get another driver side unit, you could def wire it up.

As for the auto up down thing with the remote...it looks like it may be possible, but someone would have to crack the etacs ecu so that you can get the communication across to the window cpu.

Either of which, i think the time spent and the effort out weigh the benifit.

lmao.... so i took apart my door. took a look at the window control buttons. it's a full of computer chips similar things. i thought i was just gonna wire something together so all of the power windows receive this power...LMAO ended up smoking and i stopped trying afterwards =)

Tis easy

You need two of these to do all four or one to do just the front:

One for up and one for down. Both get installed in the drivers door and it works like a charm. Can even integrate into some aftermarket alarm systems.

I have had mine doing it for a year now and not one problem.
