Any Ideas on How to get Rid of this

I have had my blacked out headlights for about 1 year and a half, and this haze has started to appear on them. Does anyone have any idea how to get rid of it? I even went as far as to use a clay bar on it and I got nothing, help please, lol.

You gotta work with increasingly finer grains and then finish off with a buffer and some polishing compound.

Otherwise you are gonna get scratches.

Anyone have a good polish compount that they can think of, and where to get it? And do I need a buffer, or can I do it by hand?

try turtle wax premium polishing compound. it works well on the rest of the car so it should work on the tails.

I wet sanded 1000 to 1500 to 2000 then used a buffer with just crappy Nufinish polish and it came out fine on my tailights.

Using a buffer makes it a lot easier. Hard to do by hand but it is possible. I hope everyone is wet sanding and NOT dry sanding. You will save yourself a lot of time and headache in the end.

By sanding your headlight you are removing the thin plastic-like coating that the factory coats the headlights with. So when you sand watch carefully and you can see it. You want to try and get all of this off because this is what oxidizes over time. good luck!

um you can also just wet sand with like 1200 or 2000 and then after that just get some of this and rub it on the lights with your hand... you dont need a buffer or anything... it takes like 5 min...
