anyone without tint problem
The only way to know is to pop open your door panel and check.
You want to look for the weather strip that is on the inside of the door panel. Not the outside one. The outside one always has felt on it.
If the strip doesn't have any felt on it you need the kit from here.
Here is a pic of Lancer strips with and without Tint Protector felt.

I did the felt mod and my tint got scratches all over it within about a week. No debris is in the weatherstriping, I checked. I'm gonna have to get my car re-tinted and I'm gonna find a place to professionally install felt. OH and yes I put the felt over both of the strips.
Matt, there are 1000's of people on this forum that have the felt and don't have scratches.
Do you think your door panels are too tight? Do you think you missed installing the felt on a hard weather strip or part of one?
I can't understand why it would scratch with felt unless you were pouring sand down there. LOL
Felt doesn't scratch the tint. A hard surface does. So if you didn't have sand all in the felt then you probably missed a spot when you were installing it.

Didn't miss any spots on the install. The felt covers the entire length and width of those strips. And as for the door panels being too tight, I can't see how that's possible. the clips and screws are all in place and I only hand tightened the screws.
I can't explain why it's happening, just that it is, even when I followed the directions exactly.
Maybe it's just a luck of the draw kinda thing.

Do you think it could be the tint you have?
How can 100's of people have no problem with scratches for YEARS after they install the felt and you still have the problem?
I know when people install the generic cheap crap felt they still get scratches.
But I've never heard of a person installing the Tint Protector felt and still getting scratches....
I suggest you get 3M tint or Llumer next time.

I had some tints on my old '09 and never had a scratching problem. Had them on for 8+ months and never saw anything that people seem to complain about the windows getting scratched up. I'd go with the felt solution if you're worried, though.
