so a few years(4) ago i painted my headlights. turned out really great. anyway, i didnt seal the drivers side right and never worried about it. well, now my drivers side headlight is really yellow/hazy and is also cracked prolly due to normal driving. and my passanger side is slightly hazy/yellow.

what i wanted to know. is there anywhere where i can just get the lenses for the headlights? rather than having to buy the hole assembly. the cheapest i found for the whole assembly is about $200. but i dont need the whole assembly i just need new lenses. any advice?

damnit! thats what i was afraid of.

im not down on spending $200+ for a new set of housings. i just need the lenses. to be honest i dont even like my car anymore. ive been saving up and sometime next year im gonna buy me prolly an older mr2, and since my mom doesnt have a car i told her i would just give her the lancer. she likes my car. so yea, i really dont wanna spend loads of money on new parts.


anybody else have any ideas?

yea post up a pic of those projectors. im not into the jdm cedia ones unless the little piece in the corner was amber.

so far those ebay ones look right up my alley, but for an extra $50 projectors might be nice. what kina bulbs they use?


BTW, my last post about me hating my car wasnt hating per say on the lancer, my car is a work horse. sometimes i got 10k plus without a oil change. she has 120k on the odometer and ill i have replaced is the brakes a few times the oil a few times and the alternator belt. she is a workhorse. but after a freak hailstorm and not wanting to pay $4k to fix her she has gone from prom queen to trailer trash work horse.

thanks for the help. i really like the cedia with the amber corners. how do you do that? or do u buy them that way? how much? i dont wanna spend to much like i said the cars gonna be my mothers soon.

also i noticed you painted your grill. may i ask how you did that? i did mine like 2 weeks after i bought the car. all i did was remove the slats. spray the grill with paint adhesive, and then sprayed it with black bumper paint. color matched the slats perfectly. :lol

looks goo to this day, except the DD roaddings in the pain that allow the chrome to shine thru.

 

man, seriously i dont mind getting the regular ones with the black housing for $130, but seriously, the car guy in me wants the cedias with amber corners. and it would be cool to have my mom roll pimp even though she wouldnt notice the difference.


besides the car is gonna be mine for prolly another 6months to a year.

whats the install like on them? ive never done any kind of electical work on ANY car. so im an elictrical noob. but i can turn a wrench. a few weeks ago i spent 5 hours with a buddy pulling a thermostat out of a 91 mr2....with a v6. worts thermostat ever.

 

yea i just ordered those a few days ago but they are out of them right now and the i was told it be 10 day before they are in stock again and able to ship them out. you can still buy them but it be a while be for they ship them to you

 

those are the ones that came on the cedia wagons i think.. the sedans had the clear turn signal lense...

the instakk is not that bad.. just need some basic soldering skills,... ill send u the link in a few biohazzard

i havent thought about the issue in a few weeks. ive come up on this deal for a car that im hoping goes thru. the guy isnt quite sure he wants to sell yet. but if he does its gonna be to me. he is about 90% sure he wants to sell. but the fact that he has always wanted this car keeps him holding on. but he has no time for it at all anymore.

background on the car, 1991 toyota mr2 SW21(n/a 2.2l non-turbo) w/ a 3L 3vz-fe v6 swapped into it. he is a buddy of mine and i have some wrench time invested into it already myself. thats why im on the top of the list as a buyer. just waiting for the "okay its yours"
