Sound/noise insulation

Hello,

I am new on the forum so let me first introduce myself. My name is Matija and I am from Croatia(Europe). I own new 2008 lancer 2.0 diesel.Mostly I am satisfied with the car, but what bothers me sometimes is weak sound insulation (road and tires noise, wind noise on the higher speeds). Could someone recomend me which part should I try to insulate first and what material should I use?
I don`t know if it is the problem with Lancers at the USA market but in Europe that is the problem, even with the all new Sportback.

Best regards, Matija

Hey welcome to the forum. The first thing I would do for insulation it take out all the seats and carpet and lay sound deadening material, IE) dynamat, all over the floor then re-install everything. Another one I would do is undercoat the car. It is tricky to do if you have owned the car for a while because you have to pressure wash the entire underside of the car and then let dry completely. I wish I did mine to begin with.

i was wondering how much it would cost to dynamat the floor, roof, trunk, and doors of the 08 lancers.

i know people sometimes use three levels.

i just wanna use one level of dynamat.. how much is an estimated cost?
