painting the tailights

hey everyone was just wondering if anyone had taken the stock tailights opened them up and painted the ugly pinkish red part? and would this affect my inspection, im thinking about painting mine black. thanx

You will not get them apart. I have tried them. I have done numerous sets of evo 8-9 tails so I know what I am doing. If they were doable myself or evodave would be doing them.

Save yourself ruining the tails and buy ralliart ones.

damn thats upsetting i was rly looking foward to a cheap fix to the ugly cheap pink crap in them. new tailights are just to much for my budget rite now lol thanx for the info

They way they made the corners makes it near impossible to get them sealed back up. It sucks. I am trying to source depo style ones. But they are asses and dont forsee a market in them yet.

Could just tint them temporarily until you do have the funds. Of coarse, depending on where you live and how dark they look, you could have legal issues.

If im not mistaken the "ugly pink part" isnt the background of the light itself. It is the color of the plastic cover that is pinkish. So i dont think painting them is going to do any good.

i see...well regardless for now theyre staying that way. im getting springs soon and need to save up for that which is more important. thanx for the info everyone
