Question RRM Front Upper Strut Bar

Can anyone tell me what size fastener is req'd to fasten the middle mount of RRM's Front Upper Strut Bar against the firewall using the stock threaded stud...?

Or

What size thread is the threaded stud that is in the center of the firewall to mount the center mounting point of RRM's Front Upper Strut Bar...?

Exclamation RRM Front Upper Strut Bar

I tried to install RRM's Front Upper Strut Bar and was unsuccessful. With no fasteners installed I was able to get the bar's mounting points over the studs, but didn't have enough room to get the fasteners on due to bad allignment, see picture attached...

Do I need to take the weight off of the suspension or pre-load the chassis by lifting one side... Has anyone run in to this...?

If that is true, then my car is out of tolerance or the bar is out of tolerance...

Any comments from Rock at RRM...?

you have to lift up one side of the car so that when you do put on the strut bar it'll be easier. if you don't lift the car you're going to have a really hard time putting it on. don't fully raise your car, but just enough to have some swivel movement

Thank you for the advise, I will preload the structure for better re-allignment of the struts threaded studs... I'm going to have to wait for better weather due to living in a apartment complex... On my first attept, a guy from my APT complex asked me if I needed help... Come to find out that he is a Helicopter Mechanic and his suggestion was to lift one side, but I wasn't sure of that due to preloading the strut bar.

Again... Thank you...

What does RRM say about this...? RRM guys, any input...? (I hope so...)

Did you call us yet? The studs out of the strut just need a little nudge. As for the fastener, it is 6mm x .100. It should have been taped to the strutbar. Maybe it came off in the box. Just call and ask for Matt. He can help you. Once you talk to him it will be a breeze. IF they don't fit tight like it does a bar is worthless. Please call. that is what we are hear for.

Yep, I called today at work... I was giving a little nudge, and with me was the, Thanks for helping me stranger walking by... And a aircraft mechanic, we both couldn't get that nut on the stud... I'm hoping that jacking it slightly will allow a little bit more help... Can't wait to have the time to get out there and it isn't raining...

I'm confident that I'll get it on, or Uncle Mechanic up state will get it on...

God Bless America

This Website has been very informative & enjoyable... Thanks to everyone...
