technically i should be hard with a short shifter cuz u dont have the leverage on the pivot point like u do wit stock shifter.., but im wondering if its on some cars and not others..im thinkin its maybe sumtin to do with the rrm crank shaft pulley( = faster rotation) that me n infamous got, but u dont absolute....donno jus throwin it out there shoot me down if it doesnt make sense..

^ i think he does have the pulley , it could make sense but when i test drove the car in all stock form i had a young guy with me and he let me do a burnout and it wouldnt do it then either , maybe the trans wont let you do it so you have to force it into second gear , its bothered me from day one cuz i cant keep my revs up from 1st to 2nd

lol, do u guys have differenct emission standards? i dont think theres nething else country-specific that would warrant a different ecu

if u get a weighted knob it should help..my knob that i got from TWM is 4 times the weight of the stock, it should help with the momentum when shifting so it engages easier

^ naw our emissions are the same as yours with the acception of cali , but our ecu's are different , mods dont show gains very quickly and i believe a guy up here in montreal bought the rrm turbo kit installed it , and the car kept going into limp mode , later to find our ecu's are different , mitsu has already admitted it , we had a dyno shoot out between aem injen and works and lets jus say the ecus messed things up for that one

i like rip it into gear though, dun take my foot entirely off the throttle just touching it just a tad when im switching and i just switch as fast as i can...havnt grinded but i've heard my tires chirp (stock tires...my falkens dont really chirp when i do that) when i go from 1st to second
My car does the same as yours absolute... That's actually what I've been trying to explain in this thread...
I can't power shift either... I find if I don't use the clutch I have to let the rpm's drop about 1-1.5k and then I can just slide it right into the next gear...
Why would they change the ecu's between canada and the usa if cali's the only place with higher emission standards?

what do u mean if u dont use the clutch? like after u hit redline and start to shift u stop half way and reengage the clutch while its in neutral then go to 2nd?

so i tested the shifting today to see the rpms drop and i was kinda in shock , i never took my eye off the guage from first to second i shifted as quick as i possibily could and at 6500 i shifted which is redline and the rpms dropped to 4 on the spot so thats a 2500 drop in rpms , but first to second is the only one that drops that much , every other gear is within 1k mark , but atleast is stays in the 4k range which is where the power is

What I meant was when I pull it out or gear without a clutch and to just slide it into gear without the clutch I've got to wait about 1-1.5k then it will slide in like butter...

Double clutch, then it won't matter so much. Plus, easier on the car.
