^ double clutching is when your shifting up you clutch out of the gear then clutch into the next gear , on the down shift you clutch out of the gear match revs then clutch into the lower gear , it takes some getting used to

If you get good enough at double clutching, it is one of the best ways to rev match and extend the life of your tranny/clutch.

hmm interesting....
i never tried to power shift.. since i just get hella scared of breaking a synchro or sumthing

but i HAVE chirped before.... stock everything! lol the whole car is stock...shifted around 6K using the clutch...
idk... plus the only thing different is the EVO IX shift knob that i found in my house
which is like plastic compared to the stock knob which weighs like 5x more

any thoughts?

keep the heavy knob...like i said it helps engage into ur next gear because of the momentum it carries...i can chirp in 2nd now that my tires nearly bald i can already feel the toll its taken on my tranny from all my hard driving up the canyons and what not, but its nutin to lose sleep over..ive gone past the point of babying this car, im not gonna go thru with all the plans i laid out before i realized how much time/money id be wastin on it when i can get a better platform..jus gonna enjoy this somewhat quick car and get some of my driver skills down

how does double clutching save your tranny and clutch compared to clutch in and going to the next gear and then clutch out?

Double clutching is a thing of the past before they invented syncros...mechanically it gives you no advantage. My opinion is its a waste of time.

How do you know what cars have syncros? Or would that be where research comes in?

So if your car has synchro's does it still save you tranny and clutch double clutching?

soo i found something out guys
i have found out that there actually is a "perfect shift" point or "clutchless shift"
i was looking online on youtube and this guy and his RSX had done it... so i wanted to see if it would work on my car
at first.. i had tried it at the wrong RPMs and grinded my gear =(
but then i tried from 3rd to 4th and it passed through
i revved up to 3K RPMs and then popped it out of gear and into 4th by 2700 rpms
without the clutch.... it went in like butter!
its crazy!
