Question on AEM bypass valve placement

ok, can i place the aem bypass valve on the MAF adapter that is after the MAF where it connects to the beginning of the downpipe? The rubber fitting you see in this picture with the silver aem stickers on it, is the same size as the rubber fittings on the bypass valve. this placement would adhere to the directions which state not to place the valve between the throttle body and the MAF, or to not place it on the throttle body itself. This placement to me would also make sense because there is more room for the valve than to place it on the downpipe, is far enough away from the throttle body to prevent damage from engine rock, and is high enough in the setup to keep itself away from water. to me this placement would make sense, but, if it is totally wrong, please someone tell me so i can make a good decision. thanks.

doesnt work in case anyone was wondering, it is too big. if i cut the maf adapter by like an inch or 2, this would be a perfect spot though.

the bypass valve replaces one of the cupplers, no ?

from the looks of it, just replace one of your cupple with the bypass valve like in the picture

it fits onto the piping but if you have an 03 lancer, then if you look at the engine, the maf is too far foreward to put the bypass valve on and then fit the downpipe on to the cai bc the downpipe ends up not being able to fit into the engine compartment. it just doesnt work, ive tried and tried, but i refuse to cut my new intake like the instructions say to, so i just sent it back.
