lancer 2009 snow chain/cables recommended
lancer 2009 snow chain/cables recommended
Can anyone recommend snow chain or tires for the 2009 lancer de with stock wheels 205/60-16. I'm seeing a lot of talk about not putting snow chains on an evo but am I going to have the same problem?
Which ones of these should I be buying?
SAE Class "U" – Regular (non-reinforced) and lug reinforced passenger tire chains for vehicles with regular (non-restricted) wheel well clearances.
SAE Class "S" – Regular (non-reinforced) passenger tire chains and cables for vehicles with restricted wheel well clearances.

First of all, WHY do you think you need chains??? I have never needed them and I drive in snow and ice every day pretty much. Your best bet would be to get some decent tires. Secondarily, the lancer will only do so much in deep snow. It's just to low and mainly too light.
I beleive there is a problem with snow chains on AWD drive vehicles. I'm guessing it has to do with the traction control system and the differentials, which might be resolved by putting chains on all four tires. But the problem Evos have do not apply to our 2wd vehicles.
As far as type, I'd recommend getting S class. They are just better quality, less like to fly off, and less likely to cause any other problems. I'd recommend the following if you can find them. They are easier to put on, last longer, and smoother riding.
