2003 Mitsubishi Lancer OZ rally Questions.
I am replacing out my clutch and bearings from my 2003 Mitsubishi Lancer OZ rally and I was just wondering if anybody knew some good brands for my car's clutch and transmission bearings.?
yea your right...ive heard of people not taking care of their clutch and it only lasts them 35,000 miles...but my dad took care of his clutch on his truck and its lasted him over 280,000+++ miles.

my original clutch had 160,000km on it, and still had a decent amount of material, i went with the ACT cause i'm going turbo...again as ryan said, my TOB fell into several pieces when i removed the transmission.
I ordered my parts yesterday from the mistubishi dealership for my awesome OZ and they are coming in on monday! I orderd 9 parts... Clutch disk, pressure plate, 2 shaft bearings, and a few a axle boots and more parts!
I did the budget rout and bought an ebay clutch kit for 120shipped, which included the pressure plate, throwout bearing, alignment too and clutch of course. Overall the job was not that hard to do, and I definitely recommend resurfacing the flywheel and using a tranny jack. Between all the parts I was out a weekend and a little less than 200 bucks. Not bad.
BTW, the ebay clutch works great. In fact, I am still breaking it in, but my initial impressions are that the materials seemed identical to the stock assembly, but the pressure plate feels a little weaker because the car requires more gas and doesn't grab as easy, and most obvious, the clutch pedal is easier to push in. But overall, with 165k on my ride, this will work just fine.

Throw out bearing and ours has an integrated slave cylinder, which is a pain.

Basically the throwout bearing pushes on the pressure plate when you apply the clutch pedal. Because the pressure plate is spinning the bearing must spin as it presses. The pressure on the plate fingers eventually releases the plate from the clutch.
