Alternator pivot bolt nut...

I'm installing a new timing belt in my 2002 Lancer and I'm stuck on the alternator. I'm trying to loosen the nut on the pivot bolt but am having a very hard time. Not sure if it's a 14mm or 15mm. It seems like it's in between and my attempts are starting to wear down the nut. Before I mess up the nut completely, what's the best way to handle this situation? Any tips would help. If I do strip the nut, what's the best way to remove it? Thanks.

14mm righty tighty, lefty loosey. I know because had to loosen my altenator to get to the crank position sensor. shouldnt be on too tight. Use a 3/ wrench.

get the car raised up high enough where you can use a metal bar or a breaker bar and get some leverage in there!
