Exhaust manifold nuts

I'm having a problem with the nuts keep backing out, what would be the best way to fix it.

were they torqued properly? Did you forget to put the washers behind them?

From what I know it was when the aftermarket manifold was installed BUT I'm swaping it soon. SO would t his be a goodt ime to replace the nuts with locking nuts or can I just reuse the factory ones?

use some locking washers against the manifold. Will help to evenly distribute pressure on the manifold and will assist in keeping the nuts on. I would get some better quality nuts to replace the probably rusty old ones.

Yeah I'm having a tough time with taking it all out now. I'll replace all the rusted nuts with some grade nuts and lock washers

Dont overtorque them! Get you the online manual(search the forum, its available for free) to see what the specs are to porperly torque them down. And also get some high temp anti sieze.

Just sounds like you aren't torquing them enough. Also if you want use some loctite.

I got another question. How are you supposed to torque the nuts you can't physically get to with a torque wrench And I've read also to start from the inside out, but the FSM says do it from outside in?
