Question EOM Side Mount License Plate Installation Guide (HELP)

Hello all,

I realize there are numerous threads on this topic, but I have been unable to find a really good how to on installing this thing. I have a few questions that I will lay out below and hopefully someone can help.

First off I bought the EOM Evolution Side mount license plate from the dealer, inclduing hardware.

I drive a 2010 Lancer DE.

I will be drilling the three holes and using the rubber plugs that were provided.

Questions?:

1. What is behind the bumper? Anything I should worry about drilling? From the looks of it there seems to be some brackets and stuff attached in that area. I don't really want to remove the bumper to find out either.

2. What type of drill should I use to drill in to the bumper. I don't want to crack the bumper or anything so what is the best way to get the 1/2 inch hole in the bumper?

3. At the tip of the rubber insert there is a lip, does that go in between the license plate mount and the bumper or on the outside of the license plate mount?

4. Could someone post some detailed pictures and steps on installing this?

Thanks everyone for your input.

Hello all,

The dealer installed it at no cost, mind you i take it there for oil so i guess the guy was being nice and figured they screw me out of enough money. In any case i dont need the tutorial however it would be nice for others.

Note I watched the guy do it and you can essentially drill as deep as you want there. so no problems with that, and any drill bit will do i suggest getting one thats good at staying straight though. and the guy had some guide paper on exaclty where to put the top left bolt and it seemed to fit perfectly.

only thing with mine was there was some stirofoam or something in there he had to drill that was deeper in too make sure the plug went all the way in. ps my car look sick now.

I have installed probably a hundred license plate mounts, its a piece of cake with a self taping screw. You can even do it by hand with just a screw driver if you wanted to. There is nothing immediately behind the bumper to worry about
