02 Lancer to Evo8 Conversion?

I'm buying an 02 Lancer in two weeks and I was wanting to do a full conversion on it starting with the body then the engine and turbo and interior. I was wondering about the body parts. Are they bolt-on with the lancer? I heard some people have needed the radiator core support from the evo8 for the entire front clip of the car to bolt on. Is that necessary? Just want some insight ahead of time. Thanks for any answers.

you're best spending more time on these forums.

I'd recommend saving your money, selling the lancer and buying the Evo if that's what you really want at the end.

This is coming from a guy who has had his OZ rally before Evos even came out.

You'll need the rad support to make the front bumper fit. Hood, trunk, doors, and spoiler all fit.

There's an interchangeable parts thread on here somewhere, but here's what I remember works.
The engine will swap in with some custom fabrication:

As for parts that work with the 4G94:

MAF

MAP sensor, ECU and ROMs, thermostat, rad fans

Steering rack:
https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/la...ed-lancer.html

FRONT coils, front strut bar (with a little effort), radiator, throttle body, front & back seats (including brackets for the front), steering wheel, A pillars, B pillars, C pillars, shifter bushings. There's more, just search through the forums and all of your questions will be answered.

Unless you're okay with staying FWD, you probably would save money by just buying a used Evo from a member on here. The reason I say this is because you'd have to find a way to mount the driveshaft along with a rear differential, which the base model Lancer is not equipped for.

As for rims/brakes, it won't be entirely comprised of Evo parts, but it can be done.
