2009 Lancer GTS RPM Loss
2009 Lancer GTS RPM Loss
Hello: First time poster, and I'd like to first thank you for taking time to read this post.
Currently at 78k miles on my 2009 Lancer GTS Octane Blue baby, What I have noticed is a loss of performance, I usually always do synthetic oil chances, oil filter every 3k-4k miles. When my AC is on, the flow isn't as strong and now when I rev to get at faster speeds especially on the freeway, there is a lag and I can hear a stronger rev noise coming from the middle panel underneath the dashboard (Audio Red Yellow Plug area.) Also my gas milage is lower.
I Cleaned my throttle body
Use SeaFoam every 6k
Haven't been to a mechanic yet , but my cousin who is a technician at a lexus dealership said it could possibly be the air compressor.
Description of problems:
-Loss of RPM
-Lag of shift gears and have to push pedal harder to get to faster speed.
-Gas HWY mileage from 30-34 mpg, now about 20-28 depending on speed.
-A/C Water leaks always when I put AC on, (Over condensation?)
-Louder Rev coming from engine bay more than usual to get to faster speed.

Did you get your issues resolved, I'm going through the same symptoms as well.
Take the accy belt off and see if you can spin the ac compressor by hand. No? Bad Compressor
Put belt back on - run engine - turn on ac and listen at compressor for excessive noise. If so - bad compressor.
