Instrument cluster

So my instrument cluster fried on me the other day. If I replace the whole console is that all I need or is there other additional parts I'll need ? Sorry for the cell phone pic but in the pic the car is actually turned off it just stays like that

O that sucks. You probably need to replace the whole thing. You can use any console from 02-06 lancers (including the evo). You'll need to take it to a dealership or collision center so they can try and get the mileage from the old cluster to the new cluster. Its illegal to swap in a cluster with lower mileage. Just a FYI.

Yeah it sucks. Are all of them interchangeable without any mods?

As far as I know they're all plug and play. The evo cluster comes in red. I think the oz or ralliart comes in white background? It just need to be from a 02-06 lancer. You may just want to swap in some LEDs since you'll be in that area if you want a different color.

When I get the mileage switched on the new one can I just take both of the new and old one to a shop to get the mileage put on the new one or does the new one have to be installed in the car already before it can be on it.

I'm not sure. I would think that it doesn't need to be on the car if they need to plug something in to change it. It takes about 2 minutes (tops) to remove the cluster. Just take them both with you.
