HID Projector retrofit on girlfriends 2002-03 Lancer ES headlights..

About a year ago after meeting some friends at a Dyno shootout for charity,
I saw alot of Evo's and liked the headlights..

So I got to looking at my girlfriends car and thought, why the hell not?
Heres what I came up with.. These are the OEM headlights..

The lenses need a little polishing and their good to go..
They look like *** because I did these in a day, but you get the idea..

about 2 hours from beginning to end.. I've got this shlt down to an art

Fast forward to today..

I bought a set of the cheapest pair of headlights I could find on eBay to use as a base for an hid projector retrofit ..

This will be an anniversary present for my girl.. 2 years of putting up with my shlt

Just got em in the mail today..

I plan to use a stick on lens protect setup, the current headlights I did a while back will be sanded/polished up to look like new and sold on craigslist..

I'm thinking full blackout.. That's what I did on my Tacoma when I retrofitted that with a projection HID setup.. All the chrome reflective housings were painted satin black.. The lenses are not tinted, that's just how this effect looks..

The stuff from TheRetrofitSource.com should be here tomorrow, so I did a little baking today

300 degree's, 5 minutes..

Now it's ready to be mocked up, cleaned, painted, ect..
I want to sit everything together and see what looks best..

I mite edit a few pictures with the parts and put up a poll to gauge some opinions..

More coming soon..

If your happy with poorly made jdm wannabe crap, thats cool..

I can spend the same money and get the results and performance I want for about the same price tho..

I'm not really a fan of the Cedia styled headlights either

laggin on updates.. I'm about done with it so I'll just copy and past what i have..

If it doesn't mesh up timeline wize, thats why

I have it sat together..

I have the shroud (round dealy) taped into place, I'm thinking I need to paint the reflective surface where the stock bulb reflected off of all black and keep the BMW shroud chrome and call it good..
here is what they looked like unmodded..

So I decided to black out the bulbs reflective surface to clean things up a bit..
And I think I've got what I'm looking for after a quick mockup..

I felt that clear inner lens outdid the projector, so I opted to dumb it down a little bit so it's more balanced/flows.

modded on the left, stock on the right..

should mesh well, haven't sat it together, but I have an idea it's about right for a balanced look..

here's the unmodded turnsignal lens, I think this combo should look decent..

here it is in mock pre cleaned stage..
I have the solenoid wiring ran through where the 9007 bulb shield
was then through a small hole that I'll fill with shoe goo

I think it turned out fairly balanced (projector/shroud vs. turnsignal)

I thought about modding the turnsignal to be a separate high beam, but time killed it..
