How to Change Cabin Air Filter 02 OZ Rally

I looked around the threads and did not find anything on how to change the cabin air filter. My cabin air filter seems to smell weird if I turn if off and turn it back on again. I guess there is some sort of mold formation that is taking place.

Pics would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

I've made a video of doing this.
Worth while thing to do.

Cleaner air for sure, smells better too.

part # MR398288 it's only $42 + shipping from mitsubishiparts.net

or the TYC brand from the video above is about $20 from amazon.com
link here http://www.amazon.com/dp/B001DH81VO/...SIN=B001DH81VO

Also, what some guys do is buy a large houshold furnace filter, cut a section to fit, and just insert it in the frame of your stock filter, then you can get like 4 replacements for minimal cost, or if you have an 02-03 lancer you can just buy a cheaper TYC brand, and down the road do the furnace filter mod.

thank you very much....the way i look at it buying this ill save roughly 15$ which is a nice chuck of gas, and as for quality....if i figured out how to put a sock in there it would still be an improvement over nothing being there.....i think maybe ill look into that filter mod later on in life

i was also thinking about the filtration and other problems.... being as the cars dont have a filter in them stock, and almost everyones climate control door binds up. in the tsb they say that the track for the control door gets dirty thus makes movement harder, might it be possible that because there is no filter, more things are able to get into that area and clog them up?

its just a thought, and i havent been under there enough yet to say that there is any connection, but intriguing either way, thanks mitsubishi
