HVAC air filter
it should.. only the 03s and down didn't have'em, but there is a thread in the evo section where someone tells you how to make it work for the ones that don't have it! i did it. took me maybe 10 mins... and it took that long because it was a bxtch to clean the back of the area where the filter is supposed to be.

Always intended on putting one into my '03 OZ, but alas...I sold that car. Those charcoal filters can be expensive, thus the major factor why I never did it. Like $40 from an Ebay auction for a BNIB filter from a dealership clearing out their shelves.
i'm from toronto (canada) and the dealership here (well in london, ontario actually), it was only 45 CDN for the charcoal filter?? lol
slvroz_03, if you opened up that section where the cabin is supposed to be, it's FILTHY! well worth my $45 and 10 mins of time. hahaha

FYI, you only need to buy the filter from Mitsubishi once. Once that filter becomes clogged, cut out all the filter material (just save the frame) and cut a household furnace filter to fit in the frame. 1 house filter will yield ~6 replacement filters. Ends up costing me about $3 to change the car filter instead of $30, and the house filters do a better job.
its behind the glove box i think 2 screws. you should see a white panel, slide that out and voila.
yea mine came with a stockie but it started to smell bad, so i took it out and found some pretty nasty stuff on the filter...
solution: home depot 3M ultimate home filter!

cut the old ones out and slap the new one in!

i only cut one side of the mesh, left the other side in tact so it doesnt fall out (save me some glue too)

heres the hole, put your junk in there!

for the 03 you have to cut that piece off.. it takes 5 mins. just take a knife and cut along the sides.. its hollow on the other side so dont' worry, you're not cutting anything. lol why doesn't anyone click the link? replacement filters etc is all in that one post.
hahaha, all that work looking for it for you for nothing! jk
