How many miles before you should change the oem air filter?

i actually just bought the bullet and changed mine almost immediately. i got a k&n within the first 100 miles.

i figured it couldn't hurt, and i will never have to replace it, only clean it.

i will take a look around for my owners manuals to see about the oem one, but i would say just check it every other oil change and change it out when it gets dirty.

 

i have a brand new oem replacement air filter if you want it for $10...

 

Tossed in a K&N at around 10k miles.

 

arizona's a good bit away from the ATL

 

swapped mine out for a K&N cone filter the same day.

 

You change it when it gets dirty..

swapped it out with an aftermarket intake

 

Swap it for an aftermarket drop in filter

 

i've heard that the K&N and other oil based filters have a tendancy to mess up the MAF sensor because of the oils that are sprayed onto the filters?

this doesnt discourage me from getting a K&N but i would just be cautious when oiling it up... dont go crazy with the oil.
