I want something that's fun to drive with good exceleration like my friends 530i. I know that's a lot coming from a lancer but I want something with that umph lol ! and top speed kinda even tho I know they top out at like 110. But I want acceleration over top speed. So I figured I go turbo.

Do you plan on building the motor or keeping it stock? Not sure if the evo 8 mani works with the lancer but if it does im sure you can keep the motor stock if your not looking for anything over 300wtq. I know that's the limit for us 64 guys with the stock bottom end.

No. The Evo manifold doesn't fit and the stock motor isn't good for 300 wtq. That's more than tripling stock output. If he wants that kind of power, he'll have to replace the rods and pistons.

If you install a different ECU, yes you need to tune it.

Why do you want to replace your ECU? A decent standalone ECU costs $1000+ and is unnecessary for your power goals.

No, you don't need to be turboed. but it would be pointless. Your stock ROM is fully capable of being tuned for bolt on applications. Either way, you still won't get much power at all going that route. The main reason to go to an Evo Rom is that it has a lot more potential for tuning a turbo setup. You can get a way better tune through out the curve since it has more fields for load, timing, and fuel maps, and if you want a lot more power and wanna make a switch to E85, it's a good idea. The biggest reason I made the switch to an Evo Rom is that I wanted to go speed density, and the Evo roms have a way better tech support.

If you have an automatic, I don't believe you can flash an evo rom on your car, and I don't think you could swap and evo ecu into your car. least the last time I was reading on some of the sites, no one had successfully done it.
