My daughter's '04 Ralliart has the stock subwoofer and underseat amplifier in it, but it has a Pioner DEH-P6500 head unit. The Pioneer is hard to read in daylight, the face plate is marred, and my daughter just wants a plain blue background without all the moving background options.

I want to replace the head unit with something that preferrably has a red background for the controls, and a blue background for the display, that costs $200 or less, and will also power the subwoofer (the existing Pioneer appears to do this).

Any recommendations on units? If I need to spend more, I will consider it.

Not many red/blue choices out there. I'd assume she wants mp3 capability. You'll need at least two sets of pre-outs for the amp hookup.

JVC have a heap of head units that light up red with a beige/whitish display.

My 04 model Kenwood cd player has red lighted buttons and blue display.

 

my jvc can change what color it lights up. it was about 200 if i remember correctly.
i dont feel like looking right now. but PM me if you want the model number.

 

If she doesn't want to play mp3's, then just get the Infinity factory deck off someone. They prob go for $50 or less!
