ok so im wanting to put a new amp and sub in my RA, i was looking thru the audio sticky and went to the links provided there...
so then i read this:
so thats when i found this
http://www.amazon.com/Soundgate-LOCX.../dp/B000EOMWLC
i emailed otter, he referred me to this
http://www.logjamelectronics.com/soundmitsamp.html
but it states i need a 4 channel(4 RCA) amp, well...mine is a 2 RCA amp, so thats a no go
im just neededing to know which one i need or if theres one not linked here i could use to have the stock head unit, aftermarket 2 RCA amp, and a aftermarket sub. im am really no good at this audio stuff, but once i get everything i need i can get some people i know to hook it up. they would help me find what im looking for but have never messed with the lance infinity system i have. thanks so much in advance,

oh and another question, the two plugs that go into the stock amp under the seat of my RA, one is round and has, what i can remember, 5 pins
and the other is a plug that looks like the one linked here
http://www.amazon.com/Soundgate-LOCX.../dp/B000EOMWLC
was wondering which one of these is used for the sub signal. thanks

Replacing the stock Infinity subwoofer: If you're going to do this, do it right. You'll want a new box, sub, and amp. You should be able to setup the amp to feed off the signal coming from the Infinity amp under the passenger seat. Replacing the sub in the stock encloser just isn't going to yield good results, and there's not enough power coming off the Infinity amp to power an aftermarket subwoofer properly.
i went to the "if you want to replace the amplifier" link, didnt really see what i needed after i put in my car info, didnt show pictures and the descriptions were cut off so not too much help there.Originally Posted by otter

seeing that it referred to using a LOC, i looked back at the first link and saw one of the options being a LOCX, so i googled "LOCX" and is matched up with the brand SoundgateOriginally Posted by gary_06ralliart
the best way to add a sub with your stock stereo is to get a line out converter with an aftermarket amp, and aftermarket sub. you have to run new power and ground to the aftermarket amp for it to work properly. you can use to the stock sub signal for the line out converter. the stock system is really weak. the stock amp is really small and doesn't put out much power, your better off not trying to steal anything from it, cause there not much to steal!!

qq, do you not have a desire to go with an aftermarket head unit? it would yield better sound quality and for me was a lot easier in hooking everything up.

a few days after posting this i got a hold of a friend Jensen vm9312 touch screen deck, freakin badass unit, so to your question, at first it was going to be a later upgrade, but then yes cause one fell into my lap. Originally Posted by HuMmInGBiRd

grats, it should be rather painless. wiring harness soldered to the wires of the headunit, plug it in. plug in the RCAs, grounds, amp turn on, power amp, run speaker wire from amp to subs. DONE.

yup, was all plug and play. sounds awesome. only thing i need to figure out is why the stero is always at 19 when i turn it on, even when i turn it down before leaving the car. kinda annoying.Originally Posted by HuMmInGBiRd

I have aftermarket everything as far as audio goes except for the tweeters. I rewired the stock infinity amp to power my aftermarket speakers and they sound great. I am glad that came with the car so i didnt have to worry about buying a whole separate amp for just that purpose. something you might want to look into.
