Ok, so if I'm understanding you right the new ONE piece design has yielded better gains then version 1? Is there a need to relocate anything for the install of this one or no?

Trade in's...

I really didn't see any difference in the two performance wise. What i did see was that it looks 100% nicer and for show guys that is what counts.

You don't need to relocate anything for this intake.

Gen 2 looks a hell of a lot better. What I am concerned about is the one I have (Gen 1) smacking the underside of my front body rail. Other than that, I have no complaints.

solid motor mounts would fix that... it is amazing how hard the motor twists when getting on it hard.

Although sometimes big bumps cause it to smack i've hear... maybe just a piece of rubber and some zipties would help alleviate it.

Performance is going to be similar but this filter is a flows a little bit more and the one piece design will allow for smoother flow and a cleaner look. Not like Injen Leggo style intakes with a lot of couplers and clamps etc.

Hey PDX, I had the same problem so you can either change the angle of the bracket via a hammer or get one of those extension bracket things and just bolt it on lower.

If it is hitting it is because engine is moving soooo much. That is where the motor mounts come in. Especially whne you launch hard!

How difficult is it to put the motor mounts on this car. I know on my old car (RSX) it was a *****.
Maybe RRM can develop a engine torque dampener for our car. Ingalls makes one for the rsx and looks like a small strut that attaches to the head and to the strut tower mount and is adjustable. If ya need a pic ROCK I can send ya one....I think it would be a VERY good mod.

the front mount is a piece of cake. Just support the motor and remove the motor mount bolt. Then drop the lower brace... three bolts and the brace with motor mount comes right down where you can easily remove the old and install the new. The back mount is a little trickier. Support the motor and take out the motor mount bolt. Then you need to loosen the mount. I remove the bolt from below the car with someone above holding a wrench on the drivers side. I loosen the mount from above with a 3/8 ratchet and 3"swivel head attached to a 6" swivel head extension. Not all that hard. An hours+ work if that. Just ensure you have a friend standing by to assist.

Does anyone know how much vibration will be transfered into the cabin. I know on some applications the in cabin vibrations (at idle of course) can be pretty bad.

Motor mounts will transfer a bit of vibration to the cabin. You will get used to it but regardless. It is not going to shake filling out of your teeth.
