Macco ?! everything and anything
What do you guys think of Macco as a body shop and paint shop?
They are cheap and we all know you pay for what you get but I don't have $6000.00 to repaint my car. I want it black and I don't mind repainting it every 3 years or so often.
Any feedback is welcome.

Do not use maco. They do an awfol job. THe quality is crap, and the time they put into prep work is even less. They have a tendensy to paint over pinstriping, Door Trim, Intenias, Wheels, Tires, Exhausts.
Go to a real shop and spend the extra couple of hundred dollers.

maaco does a fine job if you do all the prep work and get the car in primer and sanded......if all they have to do is spray the paint, no problem.
tape off all ur windows and stuff like that.

I had a Maaco in the Fresno area that did a great job on my old 1988 Celica. They took out all my dents ($1.00 each, though), installed my wing, and even put "racing" stripes from front-to-back. The paint was good, and I didn't note any problems in the two years I had the car after the paint job.
The best time to get a paint job at one of these "discount" body shops is when they have a sale or coupon, and then you can get their $800 paint job for $400, instead of paying $400, and getting what you pay for-garbage. It's not like the application for employment at these places ask "Do you suck at painting?" and only hire those guys. The people are usually good, it's just the quality of the supplies or services the buyer requests.

i was planning on letting them install my body kit..i called them and they told me they do installations and stuff..do they really install?? and will i get a descent enough job..its just installation no paint
any shop that is only good if you do the prep work yourself is not a good paint shop. for one thing most shops prefer you to not primer your vehicle before you bring it to them because different primers react to different paints differently. wow that was an interesting sentence. basically if you bring a shop a prepped vehicle and all they do is spray it then you are getting bamboozled.
but as for personal experience with maaco, my buddy had his 85 impala painted kandy blue there and it looked great, never saw a flaw in it at all.

They painted a white stripe down the center of my old 911 racecar. When I went to pick it up, the stripe on the hood was off by about 6 inches from top to bottom! The emblem in the center no longer looked centered!
You get what you pay for. I will never go back!!

i prepped my buddies 86 corolla and had it painted by Maaco. We took off all the panels/windows/rubbers etc. and taped it all up. All they did was spray the car and it looked came out good.
