import trenz or accolade...
i got an evo vii kit from lancer31, and i tried installing it last night. it looks to me like i have to remove part of my bumper support. i did a search on this, and didn't find the info i was looking for. which kit do i need to remove the support for, and is there any way around taking it off? i will try to post pics later of what my bumper looks like so maybe i could get some help. i just want to install it without removing any supports from my car. any input would be great!
probably an import trenz evo 7 conversion. i had it on my car. yes you have to remove the front bar completely otherwise it wont work. my buddy even tried to customize the bar, but even that wouldnt work. either remove it, or re sell the kit. your choice.

The main problem with removing the bar is 2 in one. If you get in a crash, there is more danger of bending the frame and more force would be transfered into the occupants of the car causing more injury. For this reason if you do have a frontend collision the insurance company (if they talk to the body shop) will find out that your crashbar is gone and could deny your coverage, this would leave you with a broken car, and more than likely a severe case of whiplash to pay for on your own.
NOT COOL to say the least. Though the shorter bumper does look nice!
I have a TechSport kit and I was told that I just have to shave a piece of the bumper off. Right it's in the shop being painted and it will probably be installed next week. I will definetly let everyone know what the results are.
for both bumpers...im not sure if both bumpers have it...but u have to remove the foam thing...and for the rear bumper ull have to remove the metal part holding the bumper to the body...it will casue problems if u get into an accident...but u've gotta balance..."safety...or looks"...i took mine of and got a kit...even tho in chicago region we have highest chance of gettin hits from the back...as we have the most ignorant ppl hea...grrr
my friend has a 6 gen celica and he had to either cut his re-bar, remove it or trim his bumper. he decided just to trim a small peice of the bumper... would u be able to do that?

no, the bumper runs right up into the rebar, and needs to go back about 2-3 more inches. it looks like there are 2 pieces on the rebar, and it looks like i MIGHT be able to get the front part off, and then....it MIGHT fit. i'll try to get some pics.

i don't want to remove it...i figured if all i had to do was maybe shave it down a little, then it might be worth it, but i think i'm gonna just sell the kit and get something else....def post pics though.
