actually, didn't have to sand anything...just make sure that you use a good plastic cleaner. i went to home depot and got this stuff called TSP...it takes all the residue off like armor all and stuff like that. didn't even have to prime it...went to the local auto paint store and got them to mix me up some of the paint from the paint code on my car and they added some kind of vinyl base to it...cost me $30 to get a pint and i only used 1/2 to paint all of the panels. then i went over them with 3 coats or clear coat...

Man that looks good, what kind of sprayer did you use? Or what tools would I need to do this?

i do a little bit of airbrushing on the side so i decided to use my airbrush to do my panels...mainly because the spray is so fine that it allows a good filling spray and even spray...

That looks real slick around the instrument panel. Did you apply the clearcoat with your airbrush as well. Do you think it would be possible to do a bodykit with an airbrush, or is that too much area to paint?

i actually applied the clear coat with a spray paint can from wal-mart! you could do a bodykit with one but you are looking at a time consuming venture...but at least you could start one coat and by the time you are at the other end of the front fascia you could just start on the second coat...heh...but it would be possible.

taking the dash apart took about 10 minutes...it is only a couple of screws that hold pieces around it on and then everything else pops out...real simple...i will write up a how-to on this and post it...if i can find someone else locally that wants to do this to their lancer i will even include a complete pictorial...
