I've seen it on a lancer on cardomain.com 2days ago. not to burst ur bub lol... (it coulda been your lancer though im not sure) but it looked good man! too bad im gonna save my $$$ for RRM "Stage X" turbo

 

A) if you're doing 100mph, you want the back end to be stable, not loose.

B) if you're taking a turn at double the posted speed limit (who doesn't?), you want the rear end to slide gracefully, not fly out and wreck you.

The same thing can be achieved with the stock wing, and the upgraded sway bar from RRM. I can go 180 km/h on the highway and the rear feels perfectly fine, and I only have the sway bar.

You do not understand.

Stock wing = X
Stock wing plus VG = X + Y

In this equation, X would represent the downforce provided. Y would represent the additional downforce.

RRM does not make a sway bar. But my point again is that the VG plus the Progress bar will make for more than the bar alone.

I understand the basic idea of it adding more downforce, but the downforce is on the rear of the car, exactly what front wheel drive cars do not want. Yes some downforce is great to keep the back planted, but the stock wing does this perfectly fine. I'll admit the VG does look cool, but to claim its functional, a civic with a 10 foot erector set can claim "it adds more downforce" and technically be right, but its still useless on their car. Front canards would be a far better modification in terms of aerodynamics and stability.

Not all aerodynamic parts increase performance, if you watch high speed racing, a lot of the FWD cars do not even have true wings, they have small little lips, why? Because the drag made by the wing is far worse than the mild increase in downforce, and the downforce produced can actually be detrimental to handling. Downforce is not the only thing to consider, what part of the car is acts on is equally as important.

If you want it on your car, go for it, it's your car. Yah, ppl will say yer posing as an Evo, but if it gives just a lil bit increase for performance, then that's even better, cause then it won't just be for looks, even if the increase is so small. We will only know until someone tries it out. So I say go for it BlackLancer03, and let us know if it makes any difference.
