a MR Vortex generator!? My honest opinion....WHY!?
I understand an Evo VIII wing on our rides...i like the EVO VII front end conversion. The Evo steering wheel and Evo seats are understandable...but the vortex generator...that just screams "Wanna be Evo". I even think that looks hella ugly on the MR .

Your ride...that's just what I think man .

what could be cooler then spikes off the back window.

man.. i dont really care about the wanna be evo comments... alota people dont even know the difference. i just think it looks cool. and i do go pretty fast. its all good. its a mix of everything, lancer, evo, MR. my own style. if ya wanna call me a wanna be evo, i say OK! evo's kick *** but i cant afford one.

with the deal, i got it for 150 shipped.
oh part of the deal. everyone check out www.donjacobsmitsubishi.com
talk to Randy. get some good deals.

hey pick a fro: dont you have the other jdm wing thang off the back window... or was that somebody else... sorta the same thang.. cept the v.gen has a purpose.

Hmmm.... The "vortex generator" has actually been shown to have little praticality even on the MR at 150 MPH.... The vortex generator idea is only practical at airplane speeds and has no true advantage on the road. Just a little bit of physics vs. practicality. I would like to see how it looks once you are done, I am not knocking the looks, but just not my style.

So when all the engineers found results, were they high?

It has shown an effect at 70 mph, let alone 110. You do not need to be going mach 1.

Congrats on the new purchase. For that price, I'm tempted!

No but they (MR/Ralliart) have said that the effects are not great enough to make much difference on the car. They have admitted that it is there more for a distinguishing look to set it apart from the standard EVO VIII than any aerodynamic force advantage. Read some reviews and mitsu engineer interviews on the MR and FQ EVO's and you will see that said in just about all of them that mention the VG. I am just stating facts... it is a visual add-on and little more .

Oh yeah... they actually have virtually no effect at mach 1 (at that speed aerodynamics laws are a bit different). Next time you fly on a commercial airliner, look ar the leading edge of the wing and you will see those little VG fins.... that was there original use and were designed accordingly.

I'm not saying that it has enough effect to make much difference.
But it does have an effect.

To me, anything that'll make the car that much better is a good thing. Every little bit, you know?
