How much $ to paint the whole car?

I want to paint my car a FLAT color meaning, no pearl, no clearcoat. Does any1 know how much that would cost me to get it done nicely. I don't want the paint job to be bumpy as hell. Thinking about doing a flat blue or yellow. I saw a skyline at the SEMA show in las vegas and flat colors look really good in person. Had a definite jdm feel to it.

A good paint job where they remove the paint, fill in any holes, sand it down, primer, repaint, wet sand, clearcoat, wetsand...rub out. (also doing door jams and engine compartment.. you are looking around $2000 or $3000 USD. That is for a good brand of paint that is going to last and not chip off. A "real" paint job is going to cost around this.. now on the other hand you can go to macco where they will just spray over everything without caring, and maybe around $500 I guess.

Clearcoat is the thing that protects the paint from chipping. No clearcoat means no protection.

Wth... why would you want to paint your car without clearcoat? Heard of uv rays? and you meant single stage.

That's called satin clearcoat, it's a very blurry gloss almost like no gloss.

If you used no clearcoat, the UV rays and acid rain would eat that paint like I eat pumpkin pie.. I would get some kind of clear coat.. I know what you mean by the jdm cars with matte finishes.. but I have only seen those in car shows. Not on the road.

matte finish? could you elaborate on that. i'm no pro when it comes to getting my car painted

oh yeah that's exactly why i want a flat color. you don't see to many on the road.
