Update:

Dealership pretty much smiled and said "It couldn't hurt" as we looked into one of their Evolutions to see how they had it mounted in relative to where the motor goes. It's perfect! There should not be a problem other than just taking a deep breath to get a hole punched into the glass for the wiper. I'm gonna have to make a stop tomorrow @ the shop to get an opinion from them on if they could do it or not.
Dammit, that wiper is going on for sure!

That's not exactly fair. I think all cars should have a rear wiper (heh...rear wiper) anyway my 240SX had one as did my NX-2000. It's extremely useful, not just for rain but in the morning when it's all fogged up it's so much faster to wipe it off then wait for the defroster to eventually do the job.

 

Update: I'm still struggling on finding a place that will cut a hole on my rear windshield. The place that will install the wiper said he could install the wiper, but there's no way in hell he would punch a hole on tempered glass.

The struggle continues. Damn...


I think I'm gonna need to get an aftermarket rear windshield. Double Damn.

isn't the window the same from the evo and lancer?????? I will trade my back window for yours-(you pay) and include the rear wiper assebbly.......

yeah you may very well want to look into an evo window..

 

evo window most likey your best bet. then you dont have to worry bought cracking a window and you can sell your other one for a lil money back

 

What sprayer? It's just a motor and a wiper for the rear of the car for rainy days. You do have a point though as to I didn't think about what would happen if I needed to wipe just the front. I may put stress on the joint of the swining arm of the rear wiper to add tension to the glass and something may happen if it didn't install correctly.

Sounds tempting, but I can't drive around without the rear windshield. That's too Dukes of Hazard for me. Seriously, I really need a rear windshield at all times. If you were in CA then we could talk Thanks though

My hunt will continue. I'm not gonna put this game on hold. I'll just post it whenever I get that thing put in. There's a rear windshield place in the phone book I'm gonna check out in the morning. Once that comes though, then I can get my rear windshield tinted again. Man.... I never thought that a simple 60 bucks for a wiper and a motor would drag me out this far.

Funny thing is that I carry these mods with me (along side with the wilwood brake upgrade with me- installing next friday) I can tell people that I've got a rear wiper and motor IN my car and play it off by showing it to them
