Rear Wiper

I just purchased a rear winshield wiper from a member just recently.

I want to know if anyone here has installed an Evolution Rear wiper on their Lancer. (I feel like I'm the only one going though this)

The package I got in the mail has only the wiper, and the motor. If anyone's done this... do you know any of the part numbers? If not, I'm gonna just hit up the stealership next Friday when I manage to get a day off. I think I'm gonna need more than what I've got right now. Like some wiring and the switch that appears on the lever that comes on the Evo.

Thanks for the help.

i wanted to do this also, but backed out because i was afraid of creating a hole in the rear window. i was told that it was supposedly difficult to make that hole for the wiper to connect to the motor inside because the window is bent and may crack when presented with such a procedure. tell me how your install goes so then i may reconsider this.

as for pieces you need, the wiper and the motor are pretty much the main pieces. of course you need some wiring but you dont need to go to the dealership for that, as they might charge you a lot more than regular shops.

No. I got it from someone else for 60 bucks. It's the entire rear assembly. I'm in the process of studying the rear windshield of my friend's Evo to see how it curves.

Thanks guys. I wish I didn't work so much otherwise I'd be out tomorrow morning gettin' that bad boy on. I've been suggested though the person that I could have the wiper wired to the existing wiper blades so all three of them would go off whenever I used the wipers. I think that'd be kinda cool and cost efficient. More feedback would be nice. Thanks again guys! Hopefully I might be able to get that thing on by friday.

I'd get one just to be able to see when it rains... I think function wins over the Evo appeal on this mod. I be a dealership charges an arm and a leg to do the install...

Dreamartist, let us know how it goes.

^ I agree. Regardless if it makes our cars closer to the look of an Evo, its will help to be able to see in the rain.....I friggin hate all the water on da back window.....can't see a damn thing when its raining.

That's why I would do it. After driving 2 HBs without a rear wiper and one with you get use to the idea of having it there, but the wiper didn't come with the car I bought so I have to live with it.

I would suggest getting the switch from an EVO and installing it somewhere in the dash/console area either that or just rigging a dial or rocker switch to it (something where you have more than one setting) I just don't know how that would work.
