i tried it and didnt work so well, trust me. im glad i had a feceshield on when i did it , from what i understand any cuting, drilling or modyfing of the glass is done before it is tempered. But it was prety cool to watch it brake, at first there was 1 back windshield then there were litle bits of glass all over the floor
not so fun to clean up though the pieces were all over the shop
and no i did not try it on my lancer, i had the same idea, so i tried it on some glass we had laying around the shop
but if you find somebody that can do it please share, they will probably be getting lots of bussines from us lol, ive been trying to find a way to put the rear wiper on without doing anything to the glass...... i want it!

the rear glass (as well as the side windows) are what's called 'Tempered Safety Glass'. That's the kind of glass that shatters into a million peices when it breaks. It's not possible to drill holes into that kind of glass. The dealership is the only place to get the glass with the hole in it. Be ready to spend upwards of $400-500 just for the glass. I work at an autoglass shop and I've worked on quite a few of my friends evos and that rear glass I did for one took nearly 3 weeks to come in and it was expensive as hell.
I'm not trying to is courage you but I just wanted to throw my input out there. I've thought of doing this to my car for a while, but unless I can find an evo t oswap rear glass with me I'm not gonna go through the time and hassle of it all.
