Carbon Fiber Fabric Dash....
Don't be too harsh, this is the first time I've tryed to do something like this. For the most part it came out pretty good. I did cut a couple pieces a little short but I was tired of doing it over and over so this is how it is for the time.
The color is Charcoal Overdrive---I thought it would be darker than this but it came out to be more silver than black. I may reorder some in the black and re-do it all with the black instead. For now it's like this but will probably reorder black and do it all over.
Let me know what you think, but as I stated don't be too harsh cause it's not all that easy to use.
---Also, this is the same material that SirLancelot used. It's not real CF but it's not a sticker. It's a fabric material that can be used for seats, sub enclosers, dashes, etc. It's pretty nice stuff, just hard to work with if you don't know how ( which i don't

if you are re-doing it, take the pieces off the car and wrap them that way. It will make the fit a little tighter, but the edges will look a lot nicer. also, darker material would look a lot better on a yellow lancer
yes it looks as if you trimmed the fabric without taking off the interior pieces. redo it that way and itll look a lot better, or if youre getting a blacker fabric, you may as well wait for that to arrive. those interior pieces happen to be some of the easier ones to remove

I did take the pieces off the dash....The only thing is is that they fit so tight that when I wrapped it around the edges, they didn't fit any more. The clips wouldn't catch. So I had to trim them up to get it to fit. I'm probably gonna redo it in the Black CF fabric....I just wanted to get a feel for how hard it would be.

hey, ive been doing stuff like that for a little while. from trial and error i learned that if you sand down the edges just a little, then spray adhesive on the dash piece, then wrap the cf over it, dont cut to size. and also, when cutting the fabric, measure how much you would need then put masking tape outlining the area. the tape will help the cf stay together.

Looks ok, but when you look at it, it's definitly noticeable that a novice did the install. I'm not trying to be mean or anything but just keep working at it. practice is the key to working with CF. Also, forget that carbon-look crap, get the real stuff. I'm having my entire fiberglassed trunk enclosure overlayed with carbon fiber next week. It will be one of the first CF enclosures I've seen and I can't wait to hit the shows with it. I'll definitly post pics once I get it done.

definitely get black cf! that color that u have goes against what you're trying to do. good $h!t adam! you can always ask those site for a sample before you order
not bad, but i you shoudl look into overlaying it with real carbon fiber.. i know there is a complete set on ebay, but quality doesn tlookto good, anyway, i found a site a while back about doing carbon fiber overlays and all that stuff, i'll see if i can find it again.

Alright everyone, new news!! The CF fabric has been torn out and I will be redoing it with Krylon Fusion Paint. I came to the realization that it's too tight to wrap fabric around it and if it is possible I'm not good enough to do it so it looks good so I'm going to do it with paint and it should turn out great!! I will post pics when it's done. I should have it done by tomorrow. I just ripped off all the fabric and got most of the glue off but I have to go to work now so I'll be painting tomorrow and should hopefully have it done.
