Unhappy Suspension Setups

hey ...
after 6 months of waiting my 17's superleggera's will be here within the week.
dealer will install it "since it took a little longer than expected."
Like i would have it any other way.
anyways.. I am thinking about what else i could have them do for me while the rims are off.... they (the dealership) work with RMR so i pretty much demanded the eibachs spring set at discount. This is what i was told.. $200 for the eibachs, only $15 off but one of the sales guy said that the Progress springs are cheaper and lower more but it is bad for stock struts...and i would need to get upgraded struts for reliabillity...
so then i thought about asking for discount on ralli art struts... they told me $380
so then i thought
380 + 160 (progress springs) = $540ish
with all that said .. i have three ways to go
eibachs -$200
progress- $160
Ralliart+progress- $540

k i'm done ranting, here's whats up.
I need you guys to give some input because i'm tired of the run around and BS my dealer gives me.

What i want is to have my 17" superleggera with 205/45/17 parada's on, sit it with the LEAST GAP and NO RUBBING at all but without putting any stress/wearing out anything. Let me know what setup you think will work the best for what i want to do .........thank you very much

id go with the ralli art and the eibachs...or i guess you could go with the progress with the rali arts....either way should be good...but i have only seen the r/a struts teamed up with the eibachs

u dont NEED ralliart struts they will take more abuse but progress wont hurt stock struts much if at all its only after like 2inches you will hurt em bad look in my profile on axis touring cup for pic on 18s with progress drop only rubbed couple times when i hit a hard bump while turning

if u're gonna get struts, why not just get the eibachs from what i heard from everyone on this forum, eibachs have a good word over progress. but like ryan said, struts arent necessary but ive heard people's struts blown but they're still riding with it lol.
but whatever uw ant to do, it's your choice, but my opinion is that if u're getting struts, use another 40 to get eibachs

Progress + 17s = looks tight and doesn't rub as far as I am concerned, with 40 profile tires.

I got progress + 18"s, I had progress pro kit + 17"s C4's before. Check out my vehicle in the Registry...

Either way you need a strut bar and rear sway bar for the wheels not to rub when you hit a bump. You don't need anything else.

I got an blue powdercoated RRM strut bar for you
RRM sells it for $89. PM me if you want it for $50.

If you want an RMR strut bar...you should PM me ASAP.

Thumbs up No gap at all.

My bad...most of those photos are ancient. Check this thread for more recent pix.

FYI, there is no gap with 215s all around.

Had 225 Pirellis in the back, but the rubbing was insane.

After switching to my current tyres...everything is copacetic.

BTW, I got my Progress Pro Kit Springs, Front Strut Bar, and Progress Rear Anti-Sway Bar all from RRM. Call Rob for a package deal on the whole kit and kaboodle. Pay via PayPal and the mods usually ship the same day, if they're in-stock.

Click here to check everything out. Looks like Rob and Gabriel have everything in stock.

One note. I'd invest the $59.00 and preorder the Autocross Sway Bar Perches. The current swap incorporates stock 0-Z swaybar mounts, which are not as robust as the new RRM Rally-Type units. This is just my opinion. You can go with the stock assembly if you like and add the newly redesigned perches at some future point. Best to call tomorrow and speak with Rob or Gabriel directly @ (562) 906-5335.

Humm

Progress is rated 1.8 drop front and back, i can get these for 185 , after setteling 2" max drop, this by manufactures specifications leaves you plenty of adjustment to get back to factory specs for allignment. Thus not putting alot of unecessary wear and pressure on the front end. Do it Dont sweat it

thanx for all the help guys ..stewart i called and ordered rrm anti sway bar, k-bar, and progress... thinking about perches.
my 17's are at the dealer and will be put on and balanced without theses mods tommorow.. i want to install the RRM mods myself.. (i like learning to do ****)...
questions i have now is

1)will i run into any problems with installing it that you guys know of? any tips would be greatly appreciated.

2)Are there camber kits for lancer 03 .. and do i need it (will it help any)? remember i want show and go so if camber kit will give me a nice flush look without hurting anything, i want! ( i like to spoil myself!)

3) once i all the rrm goodies on would i need to go get alignment and balancing done again ?

thanx again for your input
