No, long story short, harnesses in a daily driver are not only pointless (since you're from Calgary, do you really need to be held firmly in your seat while driving on Glenmore?) but they are also dangerous. You cannot half *** safety gear, you either go all out, or not at all. A better alternative to a harness would be a CG Lock, it holds you still without interfering with the function of the seatbelt and the seats.

and remember kids, when you're wearing a harness on the highway you can't see in your blind spots

I agree with what theblue said, unless you have you're harnesses loose or something, you can't possibly see your blind spot, and we're not talking about simply looking in your mirrors. To be honest, I could care less about someone getting killed because they decide they want a harness in their car without a roll cage, but at the same time I rather not have the "tuner" name (and subsequently the insurance for our age group and car type) soiled because of a couple of boneheads.

....Alright then (I'm not gonna point out the obvious anymore, when you wake up in the hospital and can't feel your legs you'll understand what we've been telling you).

? Maybe you're confused on the definition of ignorant. What I said was pure jackassery, I implied that by not following the warnings put out by the various people on this board you would get hurt. Now then, if infact what you did was correct, than yes I would be ignorant. However, you have made no indication of having a rollcage or even a roll bar. As such, the installation of the harnesses was infact incorrect, making my previous implications valid as if you get in an accident the chances of you getting hurt or killed is actually higher.

i think its a bad idea to do this with out a roll cage. BUt i dont see how its a bad idea hooking the harness up to the baby seat clips

Do a search on here for the details but long story short, by having harnesses without a roll cage you end up supporting the car with your spine, and guess who wins?

? For some odd reason I don't see how being honest and realistic is immature but ok....If you get in an accident and you have harnesses on a car without a roll cage, you'll be fine. Despite the fact that the safety equipment can't operate normally is meaningless, the magical power of the harnesses will keep you safe. Your spine will not be broken, and you will not be paralyzed/killed. Once again get the definitions right, I'm being an ***, not ignorant. Now which do you prefer, someone telling you you'll be fine when they know perfectly well that what you're doing is stupid and dangerous (basically BSing you) or would you rather hear the truth, regardless of how cold and upsetting it may be?
